Orchard Repeat
What you seeAn all-over repeat of pomegranates, whole, halved and split open to their seeds, with purple figs, cut figs and golden quinces among fig leaves, pomegranate flowers and curling tendrils on a warm cream ground.
What it meansThe pomegranate is named three times in the Quran, among the gifts of the garden, and its crowded seeds have long stood for plenty in the tiles and textiles of the Islamic world. The fig and the quince grew beside it in walled gardens from Andalusia to Persia.
Where it worksA generous, warm pattern for a kitchen or dining wall.
