What you seeThe same tea glass repeated in a calm grid, empty, a quarter, half, full and brimming, in black line with the tea in fluorescent pink.

What it meansThe istikana is the slim-waisted tea glass used across Iraq, Turkey, Iran and the Gulf, where strong black tea is served in it on a small saucer through the day as an everyday sign of welcome.

Where it worksIn a hallway, a reading corner or a bedroom, where one calm object on a quiet ground is enough.
