Water Jug
What you seeA terracotta jug with cream triangles and bow ties stands beside a small patterned bowl in an arched niche.
What it meansAmazigh (Berber) potters of North Africa paint their vessels with bands of triangles, lozenges and zigzags in dark and red slips. Unglazed jugs keep water cool as it slowly evaporates through the clay.
Where it worksA gentle still life for a kitchen or dining room.
