Dotted Star
What you seeA grid of dots covers a deep navy ground. Inside a large eight-pointed star the dots swell to full apricot, thinning towards its edges; a smaller star at its heart is set in clay, and outside it faint blue dots fade away like a halo.
What it meansThe eight-pointed star, made of two overlapping squares, is one of the oldest figures in Islamic geometric art. Here it appears only through the size and colour of the dots, the way a printed halftone builds a picture.
Where it worksFor a living room, hallway or study; a bold modern piece that pairs with Twenty Phases and Eclipse.
