Lunar Month

No. 15 of 100 · free · 300 dpi

What you seeTwenty-nine moons in a grid on midnight blue, running from the dark new moon through the waxing crescents to the full moon and back through the waning crescents to dark, with a small gold star in the thirtieth place for Eid. The two new moons that bound the month are ringed in gold.

What it meansThe Islamic calendar is lunar, and each month runs from one sighting of the new crescent to the next. Ramadan is counted this way, which is why it moves through the seasons.

Where it worksA calm, calendar-like piece that explains itself. It pairs well with New Crescent.
