Pressed Fern

No. 10 of 20 · free · 300 dpi

What you seeA single fern frond, its scalloped leaflets fading from dark olive at the base to pale green at the tip, lies pressed on a warm paper sheet held down by two torn strips of tape. The sheet sits on a deep forest-green ground.

What it meansA nod to the Victorian fern craze, when fronds were pressed and kept in albums; the frond is built leaflet by leaflet so each lobe is its own.

Where it worksA deep, calm print for a hallway, study or dark-painted room.
