Pressed Wildflower

No. 9 of 20 · free · 300 dpi

What you seeAn off-white herbarium sheet with a soft shadow lies on a sage ground. On it a pressed wildflower, roots and all, with faded olive leaves, two dusty-rose flowers and a pair of buds, is held down with torn strips of paper tape.

What it meansA herbarium sheet is how botanists have kept plants for centuries: flattened, dried and taped by hand. The colours are faded as a real pressing would be.

Where it worksA quiet piece for a study, bedroom or reading corner; hang it with Pressed Fern as a pair.
