Skylight
What you seeA round opening high in a charcoal room shows a pale sky and a slim crescent. A faint beam falls from it to the dark floor, where the light lies as a long soft ellipse of cream.
What it meansThe oldest window in architecture, a hole in the roof, and the shape its light makes when it lands. The crescent through it is the sign of the new month.
Where it worksFor a dark hallway or a bedroom; a quiet piece that pairs with Lit Doorway and Hilal.
