What you seeThe same oud drawn twice, from the back and from the side, showing the striped bowl of ribs and the pegbox bent sharply back from the neck.
What it meansAn oud bowl is built from thin ribs of wood bent and joined over a mould, often alternating pale and dark woods so the construction becomes the decoration.
Where it worksSuits a study, a hallway or anywhere a calm, technical drawing feels right.
