Almond Blossom

No. 18 of 20 · free · 300 dpi

What you seeA flowering almond branch crossing a deep indigo ground: five-petalled cream blossoms with a pink blush and crimson hearts, a few pink buds, and petals drifting below.

What it meansThe almond is the first tree to flower at the end of winter across Palestine and the Levant, often in February, before its leaves appear. Its blossom has long stood for renewal, hope and spring returning to the land.

Where it worksSoft blossom against a night-blue ground gives a calm, hopeful piece that pairs with The Key and The Branch. For a bedroom, hallway or a gift marking a new beginning.
