Leaf Bands
What you seeThe keffiyeh's olive-leaf band repeated down the sheet. Each band swaps ground and leaf through the greens of an olive grove, from deep olive to pale sage.
What it meansThe olive-leaf band is one of the characteristic stripes of the keffiyeh, the woven cotton scarf closely associated with Palestine. It is often read as a reference to the olive tree, long central to the land and its agriculture.
Where it worksA single band from the scarf, recoloured in greens so it reads as foliage rather than cloth. Soft and rhythmic, it suits kitchens, dining rooms and bright spaces.
