Fig Leaf

No. 4 of 20 · free · 300 dpi

What you seeA single fig leaf fills the sheet, five rounded lobes in flat terracotta with its veins cut back to the blush ground, and a short dark stalk at the base.

What it meansThe fig leaf is one of the most drawn leaves in art; the veins follow the real plant, a main vein to each lobe with paired side veins.

Where it worksA warm, confident single image for a living room or above a sideboard; it pairs well with Citrus Halves.
