Fringe Rows
What you seeFive crimson and madder rugs overlapped like roof tiles, so that each shows only its top border, its striped kilim end and its fringe.
What it meansThe fringe on a pile carpet is the ends of the warp threads it is woven on, and the plain striped band beside it is woven to lock in the last rows of knots.
Where it worksGraphic and rhythmic for a long wall, a hallway or a living room.
