Zigzag
What you seeBands of cobalt, sky, cream, pink, coral, mustard, sage and teal zigzag across the whole surface, made from half-square triangles; one triangle points the wrong way.
What it meansTwo triangles in one square tile, turned left and right in turn, build chevrons that run from edge to edge. The same trick appears in tile floors, quilts and woven bands.
Where it worksEnergetic and colourful, it suits a hallway, a playroom or a kitchen.
