What it meansThis is the star-and-cross tiling: each star is two squares at forty-five degrees and the crosses fill the spaces between, every piece drawn as a bevelled block lit from the upper left.
Where it worksAlmost without colour, it reads as a plaster relief and sits well in a pale room or a bathroom.
