Pierced Light
What you seeA single brass lantern at the centre of an indigo wall. Rings of small eight-point stars and dots of light spread out from it to the edges of the sheet, growing larger as they go.
What it meansPierced lanterns throw their pattern onto the walls and ceiling around them, so a small lamp can fill a room with stars. The eight-point star is one of the most common piercings.
Where it worksAn image about what a lantern does rather than what it looks like. It works well in a bedroom or anywhere lit low in the evening.
