Rust Fan
What you seeSix rugs fanned out like cards from the foot of the frame, in rust, ivory and deep madder, with fields of lattice, stars, boteh and small crosses.
What it meansThe eight-pointed star is one of the oldest and most widespread motifs in Anatolian and Caucasian weaving. The soft bands of shade across each field echo abrash, the natural shift in colour between batches of wool dyed with madder or indigo.
Where it worksWarm and lively for a living room, a dining room or a hallway.
