What you seeA pale, dry riverbed snakes up from the foot of the frame and narrows to a thread at the horizon, a darker channel running inside it. Ochre ground steps back in three bands to a low range and a pale sun, and dark pebbles line the banks.

What it meansA wadi is a valley that carries water only after rare rain; most of the year it is a road of sand and stones. The bend draws the eye into the distance.

Where it worksMade for a long wall in a living room or a hallway. It gives a flat wall a way in.
