What you seeA twenty-four-point rosette in clay, with pale clay petals around a solid star, sits in the lower right corner with only a quarter of it on the sheet; around it sand rings, spaced wider and wider, and straight radii spread across the paper.
What it meansThe rosette is a ring of long petals around a star, and the circles and radiating lines are the grid it was drawn on, carried on past the rosette like rings on water.
Where it worksThe light ground and warm line suit a calm bedroom or a pale hallway.
