What it meansThe qabbeh is the square chest panel of the Palestinian embroidered dress, often its most densely worked part. Tatreez, the cross-stitch embroidery traditionally done by women, gathers borders, medallions and filling motifs there into one composed field.

Where it worksLaid out like the dress itself, so it reads as a complete composition. Five colours on near-black give it depth and warmth from across a room.
